Balsam Fir (Abies Balsamea) Seedlings & Transplants

This Balsam Fir evergreen tree is grown at Wahmhoff Farms Nursery in Southwest Michigan, and is ideal for use as a Christmas tree and for B&B Nursery Stock.

A soft, waxy, deep green, aromatic fir tree that enjoys sun and likes cool, moist, well-drained soil conditions as a landscape tree. Its’ dark green, fragrant foliage contributes to the desirability of this species as a Christmas tree. The strong branches of the Balsam Fir permit the use of heavier ornaments. Soft needles and a straight stem have made this a traditional favorite for years.

Recommended for Zones 3-6.

This Black Hills Spruce evergreen tree is grown at Wahmhoff Farms Nursery in Southwest Michigan, and is ideal for use as a Christmas tree and for B&B Nursery Stock.

The Black Hills Spruce is very similar in appearance to a White Spruce, with dark green to bluish needles, but this tree tends to be a slower-growing tree, maintaining that “youthful image” for years! It is popular as both a landscape tree and a cut Christmas tree.

Canaan Fir (Abies Balsamea, var. phanerolepis)Seedlings & Transplants, Christmas Trees, and Balled & Burlapped (B&B) Nursery Stock:

This Canaan Fir evergreen tree is grown at Wahmhoff Farms Nursery in Southwest Michigan, and is ideal for use as a Christmas tree and for B&B Nursery Stock.

A true fir genetically intermediate between Balsam and Fraser, the Canaan is highly adaptable to many soil conditions, including wetter soil and drought, shaded areas or direct sunlight: this is one tough tree! Late bud break and adaptability to a variety of soils makes it an excellent landscape tree, and because of its’ open-growing patterns and strong branches the Canaan Fir is gaining considerable popularity as a cut Christmas tree . It has short, soft needles that tend to be medium to dark green on the top, and silverish-blue on the underside.

Recommended for Zones 3-7.

The Colorado Blue Spruce is known for its attractive bluish foliage, pyramidal shape and strong branches, and is a favorite among landscapers. The Colorado Blue Spruce has the best needle retention of all the spruces when used as Christmas tree, and it’s strong branches make it a favorite for heavier “Hallmark” type ornaments.

The Concolor Fir is an elegant tree with silver-green soft foliage that is displayed in an upright, sweeping manner. Medium length needles, excellent needle retention, and pleasing branch habits make this a most attractive and desirable Christmas tree. This tree is also widely used as a landscape tree, as it works well in full sun or partial shade, has medium growing habits, and is adaptable to many soil conditions, and adult trees are breathtaking!

Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga Menziesii) Seedlings & Transplants

This Douglas Fir evergreen tree is grown at Wahmhoff Farms Nursery in Southwest Michigan, and is ideal for use as a Christmas tree and for B&B Nursery Stock.

This is an excellent species with a distinct citrus aroma; fragrant, soft, medium length needles with a green to blue-green color, this tree performs better in soils with good air flow and water drainage; prefers full sun. The Douglas Fir works well as a cut Christmas tree and is also a very hardy landscape tree.

Recommended for Zones 4-6.

Fraser Fir (Abies Fraseri) Seedlings & Transplants, Christmas Trees, and Balled & Burlapped (B&B) Nursery Stock:

This Fraser Fir evergreen tree is grown at Wahmhoff Farms Nursery in Southwest Michigan, and is ideal for use as a Christmas tree and for B&B Nursery Stock.

A true fir, the Fraser Fir is closely related to Balsam Fir, and is known for its dark green needles and silvery undersides. A wonderful fragrance combined with upright branching, straight stems and excellent needle retention make this tree very popular as a cut Christmas tree. This tree is also used as a landscape tree, and grows best in cool, moist, well-drained soil conditions. It requires well-drained soils and plenty of water.

Korean Fir (Abies Koreana) Seedlings & Transplants

This Korean Fir evergreen tree is grown at Wahmhoff Farms Nursery in Southwest Michigan, and is ideal for use as a Christmas tree and for B&B Nursery Stock.

The Korean Fir looks very similar to the Fraser Fir, with similar branching and needle retention when used as a cut Christmas tree. It has dark green, short needles, densely arranged above the shoot and spread tightly beneath, and the undersides of the needles have two white bands or are all white – a very flashy tree with great landscape potential!

Norway Spruce (Picea Abies) Seedlings & Transplants and Balled & Burlapped (B&B) Nursery Stock:

This Norway Spruce evergreen tree is grown at Wahmhoff Farms Nursery in Southwest Michigan, and is ideal for use as a Christmas tree and for B&B Nursery Stock.

The Norway Spruce is a majestic, dark green evergreen with a conical shape and draping branches. It is the fastest growing of the spruce varieties, and has short, dark green needles. It will grow reasonably well in shaded conditions, but does great in direct sunlight. This tree is a very fast grower and is often used by the landscape industry in wind-row projects or privacy fences. It is a tough tree and grows well in most conditions, and makes a beautiful and majestic Christmas and Landscape tree.

This tree is known for its beautiful blue foliage and its majestic, swooping branches. The Serbian Spruce is one tough tree, adapting to many different climates and soil conditions. It grows to be a tall, spire-like tree with two-toned needles that shimmer from a distance. Attractive upswept pendulous branches and upright symmetrical shape, it produces purple cones that mature brown, this is a popular landscape tree!

This White Pine evergreen tree is grown at Wahmhoff Farms Nursery in Southwest Michigan, and is ideal for use as a Christmas tree and for B&B Nursery Stock.

The White Pine is renowned for its elegant, symmetrical shape and beautiful soft needles. It is a fast grower, often used for a natural border in the landscape industry, and also makes a wonderful cut Christmas tree with its excellent color and needle retention. This soft delicate tree is particularly well suited for small, lightweight decorations. This rapid growing, five-needled pine is pyramidal shaped when young, becoming umbrella shaped with age. Needles are long, soft and light green. Widely used as a backdrop for flowering shrubs, shapes well.
