2024 Winners

Grand Prize Winner 2024

Congratulations to our Christmas Traditions Contest $75 Grand Prize Winner: The Aldrich Family

My name is Nicole and my family moved to Paw Paw when I was 12 years old. That is when my parents started the tradition of getting our Christmas tree from your farm. I’m now 43.
My family has been through a lot in the last 30 years, but somehow we’ve managed to keep this tradition a constant (Even my dad goes). My brothers and I all have children of our own now. We
once all debated over that one perfect tree and now we are all finding that special tree for our own households. Some years we are bickering and others we’re singing Christmas carols as we cruise around the fields. We’ve had
snowball fights and popcorn wars. We’ve laughed and we’ve cried. Seeing Santa, his reindeer, riding on a horse drawn wagon, have all been precious memories. My younger kids love petting the animals. We’ve used pictures
from there many times throughout the years for Christmas cards. I’m blessed to have such amazing memories as a child, and then to carry on these experiences with my children and my brothers’ children. This year my youngest brother got to bring his daughter for the first time. Thank you for being such a HUGE part of my family!!! Forever Grateful, Nicole

Runner Up 2024

$50 Runner-Up: The Niemczak Family

We live across the country from family, so for us traditions mean a lot to help make the holiday season special when it doesn’t include visiting cousins or making cookies with Grandma! We have three favorite traditions that we never miss: The first is we make homemade letters of holiday wishes that we deliver to the homeless the week before Christmas with donuts and coffee. It’s our chance to spread love and cheer to others who might also not get the chance to spend the holiday with family. Second, we make homemade kolaches (the Texan version, better known as klobasnek) and leave those out for Santa instead of cookies. It’s a nod to our Texan Czech roots but
Santa has also let us know that he likes the switch up! 😉 Lastly and by far our favorite is visiting the Christmas tree farm the weekend after Thanksgiving to hunt the perfect tree. Our favorite years are the years it’s snowing, adding to the magic of it all. We drive to the Gobles farm and take our find all the way back to Chicago! We look forward to the holiday season every year because of these traditions and are so thankful to have Wahmhoff Farms to visit. Wishing you all the happiest of holidays!!
Love, The Niemczak Family
