Fraser Fir, grown at Wahmhoff Farms Nursery in Southwest Michigan, closely related to Balsam Fir, is known for its dark green needles and silvery undersides. A wonderful fragrance combined with upright branching, straight stems and excellent needle retention make this tree very popular as a cut Christmas tree.
Canaan Fir, grown at Wahmhoff Farms Nursery in Southwest Michigan, is ideal for use as a Christmas tree. Canaan Fir is a cross between Balsam and Fraser, and in our experience holds needles better than Balsam Fir but not as well as Fraser Fir. Because of its’ open-growing patterns and strong branches, the Canaan Fir is popular as a cut Christmas tree. It has short, soft needles that tend to be medium to dark green on the top, and silverish-blue on the underside.
Scotch Pine, grown at Wahmhoff Farms Nursery in Southwest Michigan, is a traditional Christmas tree known for its excellent needle retention and strong branch characteristics. It has medium length needles.
