Description
Myco-ConShape™ Plant Growth Regulator is a Plant Growth Regulator (PGR) product which controls leader growth of Christmas trees as a substitution for mechanical pruning of the leader.
Apply to the terminal leader when it is two inches shorter than the desired length, on 4- to 12-year old trees. A few days after application of ConShape, central leaders cease growth and retain the full number of lateral buds on the leader, as well as the uncut top budset. This results in denser terminal buds, more attractive ranching in the following year, and reduces future corrective topwork. ConShape™ contains the naturally occurring plant growth regulator S-abscisic acid (S-ABA) as its active ingredient. The application should be done with a roller (see Easy Roller, sold separately) or a similar device, or using a directed spray to the leader.
Rates vary by tree species, with mixes from 12.8 – 51.2 oz of ConShape per gallon of solution. One gallon of application solution treats 1900-3800 trees. At the 12.8 oz/gallon rate (1:9 ratio), one liter of ConShape treats 5000-10,000 trees.
